Bartender shootout winnerS
This event was a testament to the talent of the bartenders throughout the state and to the flexibility of Wyoming Whiskey as a spirit.
Chad Taylor | 1st Place | 2015
2015 Champion, Chad Taylor of Zinc Bar at Amangani (Jackson, WY) won our latest Wyoming Whiskey Bartender Shootout. The winning cocktail, Boulevard 22, has Wyoming Whiskey, Aperol, Calvados, orange bitters, and a sage/honey tea.
"The cocktail is served at room temperature, which, I think, is one of the things that really intrigued the judges. It’s meant to be enjoyed out of a snifter just as a fine brandy would be after dinner. But it’s delicious by the fire after a day of playing as well.”
JESSE BROWN | 1st Place | 2014
The winner of the first bartender shootout was Jesse Brown of Cowfish (Lander, WY). His drink was titled “Brown & Gold Derby.” The cocktail featured fresh grapefruit juice, local Lander honey, lemongrass syrup and a special ingredient: water.
“I didn’t want to have a sweet drink. I didn’t want to crush the whiskey. I wanted to showcase its strengths,” Brown said. “Wyoming Whiskey has amazing flavor on the front of your pallet. The single barrel that they’ve been putting out is just a really good whiskey."
